Electrical Contractor Change of Business Name or Status
If an electrical master, limited master, or licensed electrical business owner wishes to change the business name or status on record with the Board of Electrical Examiners (BOEE) they may do so via written request submitted by email or dropped off in person at the Department of Permitting Services (DPS) office. Updated supporting documentation, a copy of the current license, and a non-refundable request fee must accompany the detailed request letter.

The Board of Electrical Examiners meets at 4:00 PM the Monday after the first Saturday of the month & the Monday two weeks after that date (barring holidays).
If the Board determines that the applicant has not provided sufficient documentation as to their request, he/she will be notified in writing. The applicant may arrange to appear at a subsequent meeting of the Electrical Board to give further information as to this update/change.
Upon approval, the updated license(s) will be issued and mailed to the electrical master, limited master, or licensed electrical business owner.
