Bed and Breakfast Registration
A Bed and Breakfast means a detached house that is owner-occupied with no more than 5 guest rooms for rent and customarily serves breakfast to guests. A Bed and Breakfast is used for short-term overnight accommodation of paying guests. The Bed and Breakfast use is not permitted by right in all zones. If you have any questions, contact a zoning staff member.
A Bed and Breakfast may be permitted in this zone if you obtain a Conditional Use Permit from the Office of Zoning and Administrative Hearings.
Please refer to the Montgomery County Zoning Ordinance Section 3.5.6.B for the conditions and limitations of your Bed and Breakfast.
Although Bed and Breakfast Properties may be advertised on multiple sites they are registered thru the Zoning Ordinance differently than a SHORT-TERM RENTAL – for information on short term rental definition and registration see Zoning Text Amendment 17-03.
The certificate is valid for the duration of the operation and is not renewable.
