Case facilitators act as a liaison between all divisions and sections of the department helping to maintain effective communication with all involved parties of the case by reviewing and researching project concerns, scheduling and facilitating pre-design consultation meetings, as well as maintaining and distributing meeting records to attendees and stakeholders. Case facilitators also assist in keeping projects on established timelines by monitoring it from application through final inspection, all the while keeping stakeholders up to date with the project status and helping to resolve potential approval issues as they arise.

Applicants will need to submit a written request for their project to be assisted by the Case Management Program if it does not automatically apply. The request will need to provide a detailed description of the project and any construction phasing that may be planned, any current and/or planned uses, potential code compliance obstacles, a point of contact for the project, and an estimated project timeline.

Applicants are required to bring a detailed project description, architectural and/or civil plans, any construction phasing plans, project timeline(s), their professional design team, and a list of code compliance concerns and/or questions for DPS personnel. The applicant should provide an agenda for the meeting as well which outlines these items.

The Case Management Program is primarily for complex commercial projects, new and/or major renovations of places of worship and county-wide strategic economic development projects. Other projects may be subject to the program at the discretion of DPS or by written request from the applicant.
